I am a licensed professional counselor ( Colorado Lic. # 5195), a nationally certified counselor (NBCC), and a certified Gestalt Psychotherapist. I am fully trained in the use of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) trauma protocol. I hold degrees in Art, Anthropology and Counseling Psychology. In addition, I am an adjunct faculty member in the Transpersonal Counseling Psychology Master's Program at Naropa University, where I teach Group Dynamics and Leadership. I am also a staff member and teaching associate with the Boulder Psychotherapy Institute.

Integrative Depth Psychotherapy values self-awareness, life-long growth and development, life meaning, and depth in intrapersonal and interpersonal relationships. My approach is aligned with the thought and teaching of the Swiss psychiatrist, psychoanalyst and cultural anthropologist Carl Gustav Jung (1875-1961).

A "depth" perspective to psychotherapy and counseling views psychological symptoms and suffering as evidence that people are trying to heal, even in their difficulty. Similar to other models, the therapeutic relationship itself is seen as a healing force. Emphasis is placed on the importance of symbols, dreams and synchronicities for revealing the working of the psychic (or inner) life. Dreams are seen as spontaneous product of the psyche. A depth orientation may also invite attention to the dimension of spirituality as a means of discovering a deeper experience of wholeness.

My approach to therapy is integrative, meaning that I incorporate other models and theories along with my "Depth or Jungian" orientation. These include: humanistic, existential, psychoanalytic, Gestalt, and Body Centered and Cognitive Behavioral. I also employ EMDR, (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) in working with clients who have experienced various types of trauma.
